South African farmers are up against it, with climate change and worn-out soil. But there's a real chance to turn things around with regenerative agriculture . UPL Corp South Africa , through their CarbonSmart program with Orizon Agriculture, is helping farmers make that switch. They're offering training and practical solutions, and here's the cool part: farmers can actually earn money by selling carbon credits. Think of it – planting cover crops, less tilling, using natural pest control – these things not only help the land, but they can bring in extra income. The program's goal is to cut greenhouse gases and get the soil healthy again, which means better yields and more feed for livestock. With 23,000 carbon credits expected by early 2025, it's a win-win: good for the environment, and good for the farmer's bottom line.
